Seeking God’s Will,    Being God’s Church

SEEKING GOD’S GUIDANCE FOR THE PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE AND WEST JACKSON’S NEXT PASTOR

Scripture: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”, declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. I Corinthians 1:10

Reflection: To truly seek the mind of God is to set aside all our selfish desires and personal agendas. God sees the big picture and how He wants to use us in His grand design. For us to truly be unified in the Lord Jesus Christ is to make our greatest priority to bring honor and glory to Him and to accomplish His kingdom work in the life of our church. To lift up our Pastor Search Committee and our next pastor in prayer should always be to seek not our own will, but rather to let God’s will take precedence over our own.

Prayer: Holy God, please give our Pastor Search Committee clear direction of Your will in how they search for our new pastor, in how they deliberate the things of great importance, in how they communicate with each prospective man of God, and how they sense in great unity Your anointed one for this task. Give them perfect unity as they pursue Your will and give us as Your church body that same sense of unity and togetherness as we seek to accomplish Your mission for West Jackson Baptist Church.
