Forty Weeks of Prayer

Week 40

40 WEEKS OF PRAYER - WEEK 40

Seeking God’s Will,    Being God’s Church

THANKSGIVING
(That we would contemplate all of our blessings and truly be thankful with no complaining or grumbling)

Scripture: I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High (Psalm 7:17).

Reflection: There are so many verses in Psalms that show a promise to praise. There are many that reflect a thought of thanksgiving and praise in anticipation of God's provision and blessing through answered prayer. We must never take His presence in our lives individually or corporately for granted. He does have a pastor in mind for us and we must remain on our knees in anticipation of His blessing. After all, He is the LORD Most High.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Almighty Father, Most High God, we thank You and praise You for all You have done and for all You are going to do. We love You and adore You. As we pray for the new pastor to come, we thank You for Your provision in Dr. Lawless and the way You are using him for this church. We lift up our pastor search team asking for Your wisdom for them. We also ask that You would help us to be patient and to stay focused on what really matters. We ask You to take captive our every thought and make it obedient to You, Jesus. We give You honor and praise for You are the only righteous one. Amen!

Week 39

40 WEEKS OF PRAYER - WEEK 39

Seeking God’s Will,    Being God’s Church

THANKSGIVING
(That we would contemplate all of our blessings and truly be thankful with no complaining or grumbling)

Scripture: Come let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song (Psalm 95:1-2).

Reflection: God is our Rock!  He is an unfailing source of strength as a fortress and a refuge.  He is our great deliverer.  He is worthy of our deepest thanks and praise.  We must always lift Him up with a song from our lips and joy in our hearts.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You and praise You with joy in our hearts!  You are our Rock and we sing songs of praise to You. " Praise Him, praise Him, tell of His excellent greatness.  Praise Him, praise Him ever in joyful song".  Amen!

Week 38

40 WEEKS OF PRAYER - WEEK 38

Seeking God’s Will,    Being God’s Church

THANKSGIVING
(That we would contemplate all of our blessings and truly be thankful with no complaining or grumbling)

Scripture: Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.  Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.  Know that the LORD is God.  It is He who made us, we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.  Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.  For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations (Psalm 100).

Reflection: Because His love and faithfulness are unfailing through all generations, we must offer Him grateful praise and thanks.  He is holy, pure, and perfect.  When we enter into a time of worship, it should be with a reverence and sense of humility.  We should be focused on entering with clean and repentant hearts.  We must also remember to have thankful hearts for all that He has done and all that He will choose to do.  He deserves our very best.

Prayer: Precious holy Lord, You are amazing!  Thank You for the opportunity we have to worship You freely.  You are the King of kings and Lord of lords.  As we enter into times of worship with You, remind us to have thankful hearts. Help us to not take for granted all our many blessings from You.   We praise Your name!
