Men's Ministry Calendar of Events
“He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.”

The Men’s Ministry of West Jackson Baptist Church seeks to enable men to discover how they are uniquely called and shaped by God to live the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Men’s Ministry is dedicated to uniting men through vital relationships to become godly men for the purpose of influencing their family, church, friends, community, and world for Jesus Christ.
Psalm 1 says that the man who delights in God’s Word is like a tree planted by streams of water. It bears its fruit in season and doesn’t wither. A tree standing by itself is far more vulnerable to the storms of life than a group of trees deflecting the winds of the storm and lending support to one another. So it is with the men involved in Men’s Ministry.
Objectives
- Provide men with opportunities for worship, fellowship, encouragement, support and accountability.
- Equip and provide men with opportunities to lead and serve in their homes, church, workplace and community.
- Provide opportunities for men to connect with God and each other.
Opportunities for Spiritual Growth
Biblically based studies pertaining to men’s issues or spiritual growth are offered at various times and places. Along with classes which are coed or for specific groups such as college, single adults, or single parents, there are several men’s Bible Study Fellowship Classes available on Sunday mornings:
9:00 a.m.: Men (age 55-64), Room A121
9:00 a.m.: Men (age 65-74), Room A130
9:00 a.m.: Men (age 65-74), Room A133
Bible Study small group gatherings for men during the week are also available. For information on joining or starting a small group, contact Jerry Ross in the church office at 660-4535 or jross@wjbc.org.
- Tuesdays, 6:30 a.m.:
Prayer and study group; meets at Old Country Store, ongoing.

- Thursdays 6:30 p.m.:
Iron Sharpeners "Purpose Driven Life" led by Paul Mathieu / Mike Seals (meets at Jabezco, ongoing)
- Fridays, 7:00 a.m.:
Men’s Prayer Breakfast; meets at Old Country Store; ongoing.

Prayer Time for Spiritual Renewal at WJBC - If you feel led to pray for spiritual renewal for our church, join us in the Prayer Room (in A-136) the first Sunday evening of each month at 7:00 p.m. Contact Jim Blankenship (783-0611 or jpbship@click1.net).
Men’s Special Events
Special events planned for men or men and boys are held at various times throughout the year. Examples include:
- Sportsmen Extravaganza with vendors, a hearty meal, and a phenomenal speaker (held April, 2007)
- Golf Tournaments -(various times)
- Annual Father/Son Camping and Canoe Trip (spring/summer)
